In 2014, the textile designer Magrethe Odgaard and the furniture designer Chris Liljenberg Halstrøm established Included Middle. They both work individually with many different commissions, but when working together as Included Middle, they examine the interface between their respective fields – textiles and furniture – and end up with objects they would never have arrived at on their own. Their main focus is challenging people’s perception of how colour, patterns and shapes can be combined, often allowing them to interact with the products and change their appearance or function. They work according to the questions “How can shape influence colour and pattern?”, and “How can pattern and colour influence shape?”.
