Stine Weigelt has previously created a spindleback chair for FDB Møbler. As companion pieces to the chair, she has now created a coffee table and a stool, each carrying the unmistakeable mark of the Aarhus designer. Like the chair, the stool and the coffee table each have three legs as well as the neat detail where the upper part of the leg meets the table edge, creating a small, tangent circle. The coffee table is available in three sizes, and together they can act as nestling tables, so you can easily produce an extra table when you need a little more room in front of the sofa. The table is made of solid oak. Oak wood is a natural material, and the table surfaces will therefore naturally vary. This makes the table unique. There will never be two tables exactly alike. The table has a lacquered surface. Stine Weigelt graduated from Design School Kolding in 2014, making her one of the new generation of talented designers taking a fresh approach at FDB Møbler. Nonetheless, her approach to design strongly echoes the company’s heritage when she says that she is “... looking for solutions with a high degree of functionality, aesthetics and quality, and created with the user in mind.” Stine Weigelt was born in 1978 and is based in Aarhus.
