Gitte Lægaard is a young, Aarhus-based designer who is approaching the FDB Møbler design tradition in an innovative way while staying true to her own background and roots.
With a pattern inspired by Jørgen Bækmarks dining table chairs, and named after her hometown, Mejrup Kirkeby outside Holstebro, the towel Kirkeby is a prime example of this approach.
Gitte Lægaard is a trained textile designer from Design School Kolding who has gone on to explore many other materials – including paper – and today, she can call herself both artist and illustrator.
