Rasmus Appel

”My decorating advice for most people is to get rid of at least 50% of what they own”.

Rasmus Appel is a qualified industrial designer from the Royal Danish Academy, School of Architecture, and takes a keen interest in how the living and organic properties of wood are transformed into furniture in a contemporary context. The result is often slightly surprising, such as the ‘Hug’ cabinet he designed for the exhibition ‘Skud på Stammen’ in Industriens Hus in 2018, and which was very favourably reviewed by the newspaper Politiken. For his first commission for FDB Møbler, he has thrown himself into designing a glass cabinet. Rasmus Appel grew up on Bornholm, and as an islander he has an innate understanding of simplicity and the important things in life.
